I just attended Raffles Community Leaders Forum.
RCLF: a four day event where SIG members come together to discuss, brainstorm and suggest new ideas.
Overall, i totally enjoyed the event((: At the same time, i got to know many of the like-minded from many different schools, namely DHS, HCJC, MJC and VJC.. My SIG (Special Interest Group) is environment.
Highlights
Povery BanquetThe most memorable event was the poverty banquet by far. We were randomly assigned into high, middle and low income groups. Then, we proceeded to the canteen where we had our lunch. For the low income group, they were given plain rice and a little food to experience the hunger which the poor experience.
My SIG group
My group is super high and enthu. During one of the lt presentation, some of the guys went according to the beat and went 'bom'.
Some of the lessons i learnt are truly impactful. I feel more ready and able to plan a large scale event, and project rice planning experience has certainly been useful in allowing me to share some of my suggestions. We were doing discussion..
When all of a sudden, my group got crazy and started to hunt for the hats.
Before this, we were briefed on the significance of each hat.
Green hat: creativity Blue hat: sum up White hat: neutral Red hat: Feelings Yellow hat: logical positive Black hat: logical negative.
So naturally, the green, black and yellow hat were grabbed quickly.
LOL can see from one incident that our group was quite distracted and kept digressing.
Our discussions ranged from dreams of setting up our own NGO to creative ideas like flash mob, coupled with a sprinkle of jokes to make it truly entertaining.
Our field tripWe went to some biofuel company and smelt the exhaust fumes of vehicles powered by biofuels. Smelt like some fast food restaurant cooking =.=" Nevertheless, i was intrigued by the entrepreneur spirit of the CEO.
